Unfortunately but inevitably, the current dreadful situation has put paid to the first Oxford Indie Book Fair which had been due to take place on 4 April, hanging on the august coat tails of the wider Oxford Literary Festival, now also postponed. A provisional date of 13 June has been proposed for the Fair but […]
A confession. I am not well-read. I am not even particularly widely read (and that goes for my book too, but that is another matter altogether). Oh, I read, of course I do, have done for as long as I can remember, and my house contains more books than bedbugs. But a “well-read” person scanning […]

Absolutely chuffed to bits to make the 2019 shortlist of Chris Fielden’s prestigious To Hull and Back humorous short story competition with Geronimo (see under Short Stories). https://www.christopherfielden.com/short-story-competition/results-2019.php There were 582 entries to this so to make the final 20 (and who knows, maybe the final few, or one, let’s be optimistic) is really encouraging.
I am completely chuffed to get this endorsement for A Very Important Teapot from the Absolutely Fabulous Helen Lederer, Comedian, Author, Actor and founder of the Comedy Women in Print Prize: “A curiously magical thriller with suburban subterfuge and sparkle”
A Very Important Teapot will be published on 18th October and is now available for pre-order on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Very-Important-Teapot-Sheppard-Steve/dp/1910461407/ Very excited by this
